1. MacArthur Landing Memorial National Park

This park and monument in Palo, Leyte, memorialize General Douglas MacArthur’s World War II landing, and it includes a larger-than-life bronze statue of General MacArthur as well as reproductions of landing ships and military equipment. It pays respect to the valor and resilience of the soldiers and civilians who helped liberate the Philippines.

2. Santo Niño Shrine and Heritage Museum

This museum in Tacloban City is housed in a historical mansion that was previously owned by former Philippine First Lady Imelda Marcos. Here you’ll see an extensive collection of antiques, including paintings, antique furniture, and religious relics. You can fly to Tacloban City’s Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport (also known as Tacloban Airport) if you’re traveling from outside Leyte or a considerable distance away. Going around is easy since there are cabs, rental cars, and even jeepneys available around the province.
